Start from the floor plan

Every piece states its exact size. These are the six bands the range covers, and where each one belongs.

The brand

Woven in Alabama for nearly a century

Maples Industries has been making rugs in Scottsboro, Alabama since 1928, and it still does: the listings in this range carry the Made in USA line, which has become rare in a category that mostly ships from overseas.

The range is built around one idea done properly: a printed polyester pile on a skid-resistant latex backing, low enough to sit under a door, tough enough to go through a washing machine, and priced so a household can own several.

We are an independent catalogue of that range, not the maker. Every Buy button opens the exact Amazon listing, and what we add is the shelving, the sizing arithmetic and the care answers the listings scatter.

How a piece is made

Four steps, stated on every listing

Print the pattern

Artwork is printed into the polyester pile rather than onto its surface, so the pattern survives washing instead of sitting on top of it.

Bond the backing

A skid-resistant latex layer is bonded to the underside. It is the reason these rugs hold on hard floors without a separate pad.

Cut low

Pile is kept at a low profile so doors clear it, chairs roll over it, and the vacuum takes one pass instead of three.

Test the wash claim

Machine washability is stated on the listing of nearly every piece, in cold water on a gentle cycle, and it is the claim the whole range is sold on.

Construction detail is described from the materials stated on the listings. Where the brand does not publish a step, we do not invent one.

What the rugs are actually made of

Read from the listings, not from a brochure. The full breakdown, including what the brand does not publish, is on the materials page.

100% polyester pile

Stain-resistant by fibre rather than by coating, which is what lets it go through a washer without shedding its treatment.

Skid-resistant latex backing

Bonded to the underside of nearly every piece in the range. Grips hard floors directly; no separate rug pad needed.

Made in the USA

Stated on the listings across this range, from a mill that has run in Scottsboro, Alabama since 1928.

On certificates, plainly: the listings state Made in USA, machine washability and the material mix, and those are the claims we repeat. The brand does not publish third-party certificates on its listings, and we do not invent any.

The people

Who runs a rug mill

Maples does not publish staff portraits, so these are the four desks a working mill runs on rather than invented faces.

MILL

Production

Runs the tufting and printing lines in Scottsboro. The reason a rug ordered today matches the pattern of one bought two years ago.

Quality

Puts samples through the claim on the label: repeated machine cycles, then a check that the backing still grips and the print still reads.

Before you order

Frequently asked questions

Are these rugs really machine washable?

Nearly every listing in the range states machine washability in cold water on a gentle cycle, and the small and runner sizes fit a household drum. The 5x7 and larger sizes physically fit only a large-capacity machine, and the care guide covers the laundromat alternative.

Do I need a rug pad?

No. The skid-resistant latex backing is bonded on, and it is designed to grip hard floors directly. A pad under a latex-backed rug can actually reduce the grip.

Will a door clear it?

The range is low profile on purpose. Interior doors are usually hung with about half an inch of clearance, and these rugs sit under that. If your door already scrapes bare floor, no rug will fit under it.

Value we add

Which size fits your room?

The most returned thing in rugs is a size that fought the furniture. Two measurements settle it before you order.
